As I say farwell to NY, I am realizing I am also saying goodbye to comfort food for a while…No more American pancakes for breakfast, hamburger and fries for lunch and chocolate chip cookies as an afternoon snack. Believe me after 9 days in NY I need my Scandinavian diet (fish, fish and…fish). The list is highly subjective but here is my current top pick for NY restaurants:
One of the reasons I came to NY was to work with Kenn Hicks, famous singer and vocal coach of the stars. Unfortunately I didn’t get as much time with him as I wanted to because I lost my voice but I managed to have an amazing session with him on Friday. I can´t wait to come back and work with him again, a singer always needs coaching and I had forgotten how fun it was. Let me just say that Kenn really gave me some of his magic….
A (largely exaggerated) storm warning is all over the local news in New York… Meanwhile, I am enjoying a brunch at The Grill, waiting for the wind and rain to stop….What to wear in a rain storm? Well, Pingis got it all right!
Yesterday night I dragged myself out of bed and had dinner at the very cosy Freemans. Wonderful food, great ambience and a good crowd. I even bumped into Björn af Kleen who was sitting at the bar writing…maybe working on a new book?
I was wearing my usual uniform: Coat by House of Holland, Sweater by Helmut Lang, Shoes by Rick Owens, Tights by Whyred, Bag by Hermès, Earring by Maria Nilsdotter.
Freemans has also a boutique for men and a barber, just next to the restaurant, worth cheking out.
